THEME 3: INCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Guliyali Preschool supports the inclusion of all children eligible to attend preschool to access, fully participate and learn in our preschool program. Diversity is valued at Guliyali Preschool and strengthens our preschool community. Children learn to accept, include and appreciate differences where access and participation are the norm. Inclusive environments foster natural support networks. There is an emphasis on collaborative and cooperative learning and ways of connecting children in natural ongoing and supportive relationships. Children flourish and grow in loving families. We believe it is in the best interests of children to know that their parent relationships are equal in the eyes of the community, including children and families from traditional, single, foster, blended and other family groups.
Guliyali Preschool has a culture of respectful and responsive relationships with children and families. Excellence is evident in the respectful manner in which Guliyali Preschool fosters authentic and inclusive partnerships with children and families through planning and communication, in the inclusive approach we provide for all children in our care, and in the comprehensive, supportive transition-to-school program that we offer.
GOAL SETTING
At Guliyali Preschool we create a sense of belonging for our families and children. We believe that relationships and partnerships form the foundation for learning and inform our daily practice and long term planning.

"Through collaboration and consultation, Woy Woy SaCC has built a great working relationship with Guliyali Preschool and offers programs in support of kinder transition strategies for children attending school in the following year/s. We deliver a combination of physical and emotional benefits, our programs are designed to build confidence and self-esteem, and provide a platform of knowledge and boost school readiness skills.
We incorporate soft skills into our program e.g. basic counting and colour concepts, encourages team work and sportsmanship, builds social skills and develops listening skills and concentration. All of which improves a child's preparation for school.
We have small class sizes which gives a better child/instructor ratio. This means more attention for children and better learning outcomes. Parents form strong connections with our facilitators and with other parents so they feel supported and educated in their parenting role. The "feel good factor” - Children develop greater self-confidence, enhanced self-esteem and a real sense of achievement, all of which shape their physiological wellbeing".
